I’ve been off Facebook since early January, and save a few pages where I get updates on local races and sporting events, I don’t miss it. It is a temporary thing- decided to give it a rest for 6 months, and will be back soon, but my interaction then will be a lot different.
It took me year after…
Too true - just a pity for me as I work with social media!
Typographic poster on the awesomeness of coffee. Can be found on society6 here.
Coffee is good - here’s the proof
Nochmal beim Arzt - schau ma mal ob ich dieses Mal den Daumen hoch kriege und dann endlich mal wieder laufen darf.

Things were going fine after dislocating my toe at football. Was getting back and doing some light jogging and then on Friday my foot started really hurting again.
Thought nothing of it until I was went to visit my girlfriend and as I was walking I had the feeling that the toe popped again.
After taking 25 minutes to walk (hobble) 1,5km I finally arrived and was able to take my shoe of and see the damage.
The side of the big toe is completely misshapen - so first thing Saturday morning off to the orthopedic clinic. Turns out that when I dislocated my toe I also badly damaged the capsules and this just decided to show up on Friday night.
The upside to all this is that I might get a robot shoe to wear if the swelling and pain doesn’t go away in a week - yay me!! an open toed robot shoe - exactly what someone needs in Germany when it’s -20C.
Downsides are that this means no jogging for at least three weeks and no football for much longer - unless anyone happens to know David Beckham, Wayne Rooney or Michael Owen and can get me a lend of the Oxygen Tent they used to get ready for the World Cups.
Looks like I’m going to have to hit the gym and do some biking and lift some weights to stay anyway fit.
A @markreihill inspired piece of artwork - it’s amazing what someone can do with MS Paint and a few free iPhone photo Apps
Toes getting better day by day, only very light bruising now although still pretty sore. Paulo has to watch out now because I’m coming back and I’m shooting for the miCoach MVP.
January present to myself- new running top, which I shall break in tomorrow. Did I mention I love Adidas?
Loving the blog! Have you been in the miCoach Forums much - the Support has been newly updated.
And I really wasn’t going to, I was feeling really tired, and grumpy… literally forced myself to change and head out the door. It was a long day, and the kids wanted to play, so they went to bed late.
The wife told me I could go, but my mood was killing that idea. So eventually I went, and you know what… I ran my fastest 5k time!! 5 in 25 is my new PR, and now I’m so happy and can’t sleep…
Congrats in the PB. Hope miCoach logged it as a new milestone or achievement!
@MiriamShanny @stephenfry I hate when my brain lies to me and makes me think I still have some coffee in my cup and I get excited thinking about that last mouthful only to realise its empty. Damn you brain - why must you mock me?!
Didn’t have much time this morning, so did some cross training in the Queen’s Park Savannah (QPR) instead. Some pull-ups on a football goal post, as well as leg-ups, followed by push ups, sit ups and triceps dips…
Rain fell slightly and got to see a lovely rainbow… nature at its best!
Will try and make up the run this afternoon.
Jealous! Can’t wait until by foot is better so I can get back running again!!
